Description

Penelope Sears is an actress at the height of her globally successful Film and TV career. Admired and respected by her peers, adored by her friends and fans, she rarely courts controversy, fiercely guarding her privacy from publicity. Known as Penny to her friends and family, she resides in Toronto, Canada, having met her husband Marcus there thirty years ago.

What appears to be a picture-perfect life on the surface soon unravels, when Penny returns home one evening to find it surrounded and being searched by the Police. What follows is a very public, shocking scandal, and Penny's ability to maintain resilience in the face of great adversity is tested to the extreme as the veil is gradually lifted on her life.

Reluctant as ever to allow the outside world in, Penny has to navigate her way through a barrage of public criticism and judgement, being viewed as secretive, disreputable, and dishonest. Left both isolated and vulnerable, those closest to Penny attempt to support her through these life changing events. But even they have difficulty in managing the challenges ahead. Conscious not only that she is struggling to cope with her current situation, they feel certain she is also concealing something deeply troubling from her past, which she steadfastly refuses to reveal.

In a story journeying through the experience and bonds of love and friendship, along with the feelings of betrayal when those bonds are challenged, is Penny really as disreputable and dishonest as she is being portrayed? Will she ever manage to repair her shattered life and reputation? Or will her elusive nature leave her destined to live in the shadows of a once vibrant life and career?
