Description
It was harsh, uncomfortable, upsetting, rage inducing and relatable - and that's the point. It felt raw and invoked like emotions in myself whilst reading it. The prose was good. Thought provoking. Heart felt. Rage felt. ?????
Love. Trauma. Betrayal. A refusal to give up even when giving up seemed to be the more sensible option.
The first in a series of poetry and written works discussing real life experiences of domestic abuse and how it affects the ability to view yourself and others.
Shattering yourself and the world around you.
How trauma bonds form and cause such deep rooted shame that build a foundation between two people leading to ruin and despair.
Questioning whether love is worth the devastation and heartbreak it brings?
Raw, unfiltered and unhinged thoughts and feelings about love, abuse, heartbreak, trauma and grief.
What have readers loved about Conversations I'll Never Have?
Wow, this was unadulterated emotion in its truest form. A voice breaking through the mental anguish that comes from years of sexual, physical and emotional abuse, domestic violence. Thank you from one survivor to another ?????
Incredibly intimate, frightening, heart-breaking and sad, but also uplifting as you realise that she has come through these experiences and channelled them into her words. It makes you think, and it makes you feel, and that is what good writing should do ?????
These poems really made me emotional, it was so beautiful to read but so frustrating to know that this was experienced. You have given voice to those who can't speak up! Truly a beautiful set of poems! ?????
This was a really deep, unfiltered book about the effects of abuse, rape and the trauma that follows can have on you and how it alters your life forever moving forward. To still hold onto hope after facing everything discussed in the book, is a wonderful show of resilience to inspire fellow women not to give up or give in ?????
This book of poetry/ collection of thoughts was exactly what I was expecting. It was brutal, emotional, heart wrenching and regretfully relatable at times. The acknowledgement that trauma is actually damaging and not just something to be overcome or that 'makes you stronger' is great as it's a really important message to get out there. ?????
I feel like the words I could never quite find, have been taken from my head and put directly on paper ?????
So touching, made me cry as I felt it spoke to me. Made me think and revisit wounds that needed to be addressed. ?????
I honestly don't think I have much to say about this book, except that it is so beautifully written. All of the poems are a piece of a longer story, but all of them are beautiful. Not only good but amazing, and for anyone who have read this book, and can relate, please remember, you are not alone ?????
