This is my life's story. It's a story of an ordinary man who loves to write and loves to share stories and reminiscences from the past. I love sharing my world with others and I hope this is reflected in this book which I have called "A Charmed Life" - because that seems to be the most apt description I can come up with.

The story, like all good stories, starts with a birth and takes the reader through my childhood, my education and onto the world of work as a journalist and then in public relations and latterly in a volunteer capacity working in a Norfolk Village.

Along the way I have been fortunate to pick up a number of awards including one for lifetime achievement.

I hope I have told my story in an entertaining way and one that supplements a daily blog which has been running for over five years. I hope that "A Charmed Life" will make you feel happy and at times make you feel sad. If you have a laugh and even shed a few tears on the way I will have achieved exactly what I set out to do.

Above all I hope you are entertained and feel that joining me on my life's journey has been worthwhile. Writing the book has been a labour of love and I'm now working on two companion volumes - one on my sporting life and one on my holidays and trips.
