Description
"Azathoth" is an extremely short prose fragment in which Lovecraft evokes a cosmic, dreamlike journey away from the mundane world. It describes a narrator abandoning the ordered, civilized life to seek forbidden, otherworldly knowledge beyond space and time, ending in an ominous reference to Azathoth, the blind idiot god at the center of chaos. The piece is more mood and atmosphere than plot.
