Description
When the town librarian is an avid mystery and true-crime reader, the local law enforcement must need a book-smart assistant like her, right?
Kenny, Rebecca, Melanie and Megan Towne are participating in the library's National Read a Book Day celebration this year by each reading a children's book about tacos to the young patrons. Who doesn't love tacos? Along with the Towne family's participation, library volunteer Jeremy will be giving a lecture about the history of books, and everyone will enjoy a taco bar for lunch. However, the bigger event for the community is the annual book sale. While the cookie sale in December is a big hit, the financial support really comes from selling books the library is discarding.
When a particularly snooty donor shows up for the sake of appearances, no one is upset when she leaves. Or at least, they assume she has left. The event ends with a rather intriguing plot twist, followed by an investigation that only Librarian Rebecca Towne is participating in.
Will everything turn out to be a simple death by natural causes where the police do everything by the book, or will Rebecca turn the page and find a surprise ending?
