Description
The battle of Badon is won. The Saxons are crushed. But victory has brought Owain - the Bear of Britain - nothing but enemies.
His cousin besieges his wedding. His wife loves another man - his best warrior. His allies demand his soul: Christian or pagan, but never both.
When British blood spills on British soil or sacred vows shatter like broken shields, Owain must decide: Be the hero foretold in prophecy, or become the tyrant Britain needs to survive.
The Saxons are regrouping. Civil war erupts. And the Bear is discovering that uniting a kingdom requires more than winning battles. It demands choosing which oaths to honour and which allies to sacrifice.
