Description
While police investigate racist murders at New York's three baseball stadiums as the 1947 season opens, veteran PI Humph Barstal digs into an illegal, multimillion-dollar betting operation in Brooklyn, only to find out that it is protected by City Hall. For ages, it looked like neither the ballpark murders nor the problem of cops on the take would be solved. That all changed when Humph spotted a name on a real estate agent's list. It opened up a world of housing market manipulation and a government sellout of the Constitution's guarantee of equality.
