Description
When the town librarian is an avid mystery and true-crime reader, the local law enforcement must need a book-smart assistant like her, right?
When you don't have something filling every day of your calendar, you plan another event. March is generally a slow month at the library for Rebecca Towne. Winter feels like it might finally end, and spring feels like it's just around the corner. In the spirit of looking ahead to warmer temperatures and fresh produce, the Friends of the Library plan a pie auction on Pi Day - a recognition of the ratio between a circle's circumference and its diameter. Pi Day is also something Megan, Rebecca's stepdaughter, is celebrating in school by making pies. To celebrate the value of pi, approximately 3.14, the Pi Day Pie Auction is on March 14th.
As the Friends of the Library gather before the start of the fundraiser, they enjoy having tea together with all the possible mix-ins and flavorings you could hope for, if you're a tea drinker, that is. Rebecca isn't, but she's trying to broaden her palate when she notices one of the members sleeping... Or is she?
Hoping to avoid turning this into something it's not, Rebecca decides to ask the members a few questions to set her mind at ease. Has the sweetest member of the group passed peacefully, or will one devious member's façade crumble like a pie crust?
